Lamenting SoldierA Poem by ChrisTake a deep breath, I accepted my death. I went in with the best, I died with the rest. No one saw them coming. We were busy running, straight into the fray. Massacred by our own prey. The plan seemed clear, we were without fear. Charge through the right, we'll be out of their sight, and flank the rangers. We were aware of the dangers. But they ambushed us instead, within seconds we were dead. Now I stand here above the bodies, watching the prey enjoy their bounties. If I could alter this event, our deaths I would prevent.
