Marine

Marine

A Poem by Chris
"

At one point, I thought I wanted to do something with my life. I realized, however, that though my heart was for it, my mind was not ready.

"
He stands his ground
And he fights all night long.
As he stands upon this dirt mound
And tries to stay strong.

He is off in a foreign land.
Challenging another countries strife.
Only to lend a helping hand.
So that we all can live this life.

He never says much.
"Yes sir" or "No sir"
And he'd skip his lunch,
Just to read the letters written by her.

Because this was his dream
He is a US Marine.

"A Marine" is a standard they maintain their whole life. Soldiers defend and protect. A powerful poem. We need strong poetry to remember the Marines and all Soldiers standing tall for us. A outstanding poem. Thank you.
