Raining Redwoods

Raining Redwoods

A Poem by Travis Lawrence

Raining Redwoods sing

with deep roots,

cheering the clearing of the clouds.

Their children chime in high notes,

climb and twirl

into lucid light and water droplets.

Silky moss on white skin,

faces changing in the trees,

a canopy too high to see,

intensely loving alive like

friendship dancing on half moon edges

with hearts left as mushroom clouds

landing a warm pulse

to enfold amity in everything.

Hallucinatory in harmony,

humbled by the oldest souls,

crumbled to my knees.

Ancient fog sweeping,

child eyes weeping.

Hallucinatory in harmony,

humbled by the oldest souls,

crumbled to my knees.------ this was my favorite part. this was touching.

to have such an unique vision and compassion for such redwoods is true poetry. It's almost you are breathing soul into trees. To see details from a different angle - this was wonderful.
