Higher Altitudes In Shorter Intervals

Higher Altitudes In Shorter Intervals

A Poem by Travis Lawrence

Pyramids spiral
in exponential curvature,
laying time like bricks
and building blocks we climb
to higher altitudes
in shorter intervals.

Air and breath thin
until we reach
their exhausting point,
where we sit still upon a tip
and watch, on top as one,
our vertical plateau of will.

i defiantly think this poem is about sex... or is that just where my mind is at.

pyramids are erect, exponential curvature is like a growing "curve", and climbing building blocks to higher altitudes is almost like a rise to climax. and then the second stanza tells of the falling action, the calmness that follows as two are one.

It was really good. I can't decide whether it's a metaphorical poem or just visual. I could imagine myself sitting on a pyramid, but I could also imagine that poem as a metaphor. Either way, it's pretty good. ;O
