Like Window Shades Light Smoke Rings

Like Window Shades Light Smoke Rings

A Poem by Travis Lawrence

drift in and out of sun beams
like window shades light smoke rings,

high G melody lingers in lighter tones,
lonely jazz cornet solos

spread and fade into spacey air
as warm enlightened Buddha,

we know like unseen breath
follows a sightless path

As I read this, even without the lines "high G melody lingers in lighter tones,
lonely jazz cornet solos" I sense a musical exposition.
It's brilliant

very cool... i like how your dreamy, relaxed style is heightened by these almost mystical undertones... it reads a bit like your narrator's high or just dozing off on a long sunny afternoon... either way, your poem's still lovely. ;)

I see what you mean about transformations in your poetry.
The voice seems different but the base is the same person.
Sweet stuff.
