Living Water

Living Water

A Poem by Travis Lawrence

Fog rises from living water
like magic wisps,
breaths of steam
bathing air in moisture.

Swims here cleanse clear auras
as Austin's sticky soot
suffocates in aqueous flow,
turquoise holiness in liquid form.

A singularity, no separation,
moving with the world to time,
surrounding comfort like a womb
we know in living water.

interesting description... you give water a sort of claustrophobic lifeforce of its own... i like how you seem to make it an inescapable presence, 'bathing air in moisture', 'suffocates in aqueous flow', 'surrounding comfort like a womb'... you play well on the duality of water: how we need it to live, but how sinister it can still be at the same time... good job.

I love the detail of the description, it's so encapsulating.
