Swimming In Rain Storms

Swimming In Rain Storms

A Poem by Travis Lawrence

Minor chords break hearts,
sadness stretched
low like melancholy
notes strike clean arteries
to continue bleeding
blood through wiser veins,

awareness of somberness
flows eternally,
acceptance is the purest cleansing.

We relish in its madness
through focused calm,
defenseless exteriors,
untouched centers
soaked in excess,
like swimming in rain storms.

I liked the way you allowed your poem to flow. The surreal picture of despair, yet calming equally.

"acceptance is the purest cleansing."
^^ My fave Lines, Acceptance may as well the purest cleansing, seeing as we tend to want nothing but it. very artsy line. Nice write.

Keep writing,

Serene and heartbreaking at the same time. Honestly, I felt a calm with a twinge of light sadness after reading this piece. it touched me.
