Save daylight

Save daylight

A Poem by Travis Lawrence
"

Day light savings time poem

"

Lethargically sloppy red sun set

sends heaven up and off dimness

day light shot as prisms of orange heat

and vibrant shades green reflected hills

Dry rock bed where water once soaked

swayed gray tints of older sights

like bunched nerves tangle centrally

under creamy skin deep longing in anxiety

Stretched sky thins clouds wispy

in minds of elder India conscious of infinity

underneath Austin Texas’ high oasis winds

and matchless sun falling golden past west hills

Deep further blurry view under water vision

down to bottom rocks beneath surface energized

with waves sweeping always sideways above eyes

as sun light dipping straight and deeper spreads

Always bright and goddess-like when clear sky sets

in central Texas seeing intervening divinity

spring water covers tightly as colder times approach

an hour early set sun for another half year

"Dry rock bed where water once soaked"... I like that line. Very descriptive.

(I feel compelled to add that I'm actually a "ma'am" and not a "sir"... but that's alright.)
