No cities

No cities

A Poem by Travis Lawrence

I see trees to pretend of no cities

under blue images of infinity

water reflecting wavy sky light

winds moving through trunks

leaves green in fall like summer

cool spring water swerves in ears

murky sounds and sights thin bright

mist cleared through arid eyes

near natural oasis within desert walls

grown and still gaining sand grains

swims soaked in care less dry heat

threatens rain drops delayed in excess sun

God save my spring pool water

prayer and good will can hope

blessed angels caress the swerve

heights water risen and fell to form

save future mental notes of beauty

painted canvasses moving in memory

diving down to deep blue rock walls

ancient hints in instinct within these waters
