RecoveryA Poem by Travis LawrenceDealing with rejection, a typical topic for a poemSlow, soft and sweet guitar strings soothing lonely stomach aches in crowds of isolating strings my center of balancing being recovered from the usual rejection of hope and expectations caught in thoughts like sticky webs. Recover like social situations without thoughts of empty insides and regretted smiling eyes, but conscious skin cells and flames of old ways, as her hand lingers inside finger tips touching gentle shoulder blades. Tolerant optimism with another, the four-year thought, the anxious contemplation ready for release and taken higher happiness, another climb with no peak. © 2008 Travis Lawrence |
