A Series Of Haiku

A Series Of Haiku

A Poem by Travis Lawrence
"

Six haiku are here, I wrote them so carefully, for you to enjoy.

"

Boredom

Boredom squints my eyes,

and drifts me to my warm head

where I do nothing.

Music

Music kissed my mind,

caressed my aching chest with

melodic medicine.

Sleep

Sleep is my escape,

I hide under the covers

with fevered shivers.

Dreams

Empty and absent,

forgotten like rejection,

no one to dream of.

Love

Unknown and unsure,

like a distant universe,

with translucent stars.

Sunlight

Sunlight burnt through clouds,

to reach my stretching body,

soaked from spring water.

Haiku is meant to show a single moment in time, a single note in a song, you know? For example, the moment a leaf hits the water and creates ripples. That is Haiku.

These, while in the correct format, are not in the correct mindset.

Don't get me wrong, I used to do the same thing. As poems, I DO like them. :)
