Faithless

Faithless

A Poem by Travis Lawrence
"

Loneliness...

"

I’m depressed again,

thinking of someone

I never kissed, but could have

tried to see a lighter side.

The filmy mist

I labor to hold,

slips, and gently

brushes my nails

and skin cells

on my right arm,

stretched out

on my empty hand.

It was only air,

like love,

breathable,

unseen by the faithless.

"I'm depressed again,

Take it from me: loneliness is underrated, and love is not all that it is cracked up to be. I think that it is one of those "the grass always looks greener" deals. Don't get me wrong - I am happiest while in a relationship, but I have also come to cherish the time that I spent alone in my old age. Love finds a way. I suspect that love will find you some day standing on the street corner waiting for a bus (perhaps literally.)

Well written. Great images. Keep up the good work!
