A Bullet In My Head

A Bullet In My Head

A Poem by Travis Lawrence
"

Not to be taken literally...

"

Elusory outbursts

summarily recur

within my cognizance,

mostly spun reminiscence

that still spins recreant faces

of faintheartedness.

They prolong a whisper of,

“Give up, give up.”

It tortures me,

pulling my chest cavity

down, low and heavy.

My throat follows its lead.

Well, you can see now it’s gone

straight for my head, with a gun.

The ending was very powerfull,
but 'recreant faces of faintheartedness'
recreating faces of.....?
First verse can be confusing, feel free to discuss with me
as I may have missed something
but I like and it's all about creative and constructive
discourse
