Shut Down

Shut Down

A Poem by Travis Lawrence

Restart required?

… to apply installation updates.

No, thank you,

I’m comfortable here,

without ever restarting.

Just let me sleep instead,

or better yet, hibernate.

I’m plugged in,

invincible! until

I forget to pay

the electric bill.

Don’t remind me …

just play that sweet music,

something crunchy,

to satisfy my achy battery,

when I need

to forget

those installation updates.
