Summer Songs

Summer Songs

A Poem by Travis Lawrence

Cicadas hiss sheered summer

songs that sit and slide in luminous tree light

clicks that swim as a swath,

like water rippled, to sooth the ear

until the crickets scratch away after dusk

dulls the day under clouds of hills and stars.
