... wow, gorgeous Marie... everything, fits within these simple yet depthless two stanzas...
A love to realize what was always there and never noticed, open those inner doors that might have otherwise remained closed, find and culture that profound greatness within... and to give something just as vital and irreplaceable back too...

That's kind of how I know I love someone. He makes me need to sit up straight, mind my manners, and be more of myself than I thought I was capable of being. It's all there, waiting to be unearthed. By law, we are not allowed to know our own power. We need others to help us unearth our own treasures. Not necessarily lovers, but they dig the deepest if we let them.

Funny how it is those fragile ones, who leave behind the widest trail of broken hearts...

Can I just say this is amazingly tender and beautiful? I miss writing love poetry, If I could write a love poem it would read just like this one :)

You bring out the beauty found in simplicity and construct it with marvelous form and construction. Sensitive and strangely pure . . . . almost naive . . . . this becomes a haunting read that I found extremely enjoyable.

That entails a lot of digging, a little exorcism, much healing, and infinite patience. I find that the right person makes all that work worth it, no mattr if it be for a single afternoon, years, or a lifetime together.

The realization I wrote about has come to me through many years of trial and error. As for someone who could share that with me... I had one such, but lost that person. I thought another was, but we were meant to teach each other, other lessons. It happens that way sometimes. You yourself are full of grace to be able to see it. Be careful of setting others upon pedestals you think you cannot reach. In many cases, we mistake seeing ourselves through others' eyes as omniscence, when it is merely recognition.

I'm struck by the personal and yet universal tone within the last stanza especially.
How is it you speak so fluently the language of the heart?

To answer your question, it is simple, really. All one needs to do is have the heart broken and the world stripped away enough times to let grace fill the soul where the cracks let in the light. This is, of course, far easier said than done. I figure I am perhaps on the first rung of a ladder with an infinite number of rungs.
I love the vision. I just sometimes wish love truly had a simplicity to it. Great piece, thank you

Beautiful thought, beautifully written. The pleasure of giving back when in love is one of the best parts of being in love, I think.
