Book Unfinished

 

There’s this book I have,

But it’s only one chapter long

It’s well written so far,

And has many great qualities about it

But there is nothing I can do with it.

Not with a one chapter book.

For a one chapter book

has only a beginning,

contains not a middle,

and leaves no ending.

What’s a start without a finish

or a page without a passage?

There nothing full of nothingness

Something that could have happened.

I need you.

I need you to fill the pages

Front and back

I need you to get your pen

And write what has been lacked

I can’t write it myself

And neither can you

For this book to be finished

It will have to take two.

I need you for this

I can’t finish this alone

If you don’t help me finish

There’s an ending I’ll never know.

I guarantee to you

 if you pick up your pen

We’ll write a book so grand and great

We’ll wish it never ends.
