She wanted to be loved

She wanted to be loved

A Poem by harlem_knight

She wanted to be loved completely
She wanted to be loved as close as skiis on fresh snow
Smooth.
She wanted to be let loose to a type of love that would never let her go
And she herself would clinch it's very existence from her palms to her fingertips and leave her fingerprints ingrained in a love that needed no dna.
She wanted a love so rich in patience that it never ever felt like waiting
She wanted a careful love that when it's said and done it would be full of the same tenderness that laid the foundation for forever.
She wanted forever
She wanted a love that would echo beyond space and time
Beyond freedom and confinement
With no judgement or beaucratic politics.
She wanted us solely, and wholly
She wanted vows and I cared more about a vowel
Cause I always came before u in my alphabetized planners
So her plans for vacations in hammocks were always put on hold for the time being
Being that we needed more time
I just always needed a bit more time
She had dreams of family and I had nightmares of being alone
It's amazing how we both looked at the same picture so differently.

Really love where you took this one.
The two different perspectives and how the goals are same but born from different underlying needs.

Great lines in this poem but really liked this one:

"She wanted a love so rich in patience that it never ever felt like waiting"

That's super.
