Flowers

Flowers

A Poem by harlem_knight

Did he buy you flowers darling?
did he compliment your grace or the way you tilt your head up when the world is on your shoulders
Did he take his time in the beginning and then arch your back with his hands did he make you tremble.
Did he whisper your real name in your ear like “Love”
i wanna know
Did he buy you flowers, first.
Was his voice sweet and fresh like honey dew melons
Did his juices leave you intoxicated.
Did he trace the lines of your body to know they extend beyond infinity
Or was he a wanderer. Traveling to the depths of your heart to reside…
Does he know I found you first!

I brought you flowers the other day just because it was Tuesday.
Yellow dandelions and a white rose that reminded me of your scent.
As if God grants the garden of Eden to only the most pitiful souls
Did he dance through your Prairie and understand just exactly where he was?
Did he know your strengths like a father knows his daughter and still nurture the one weakness that you have
Does he know you love fearfully?
Before ya'll exchanged souls in lusty irony and you thought of my lips.
Did you think about the flowers I brought you.
You deserve flowers.
