Human Weakness

Human Weakness

A Poem by Heather Rodwell

The rain wells up inside me
And drowns my tears
In a confused chaos.
Stuck on an island
In the midst of my storm -
Electrical flashes
Power my soul.
The thunderous booming
Is the sound of my heart
Tossing and turning
And impatiently waiting
For you to come and hold me
And promise never to stray.
We can sit on my island
And watch as the rain dissipates.
You're the bringer of sunshine
And giver of joy.

So very descriptive, it really enables me to feel the emotions contained in this piece.
