A poem for Lisa

A poem for Lisa

A Poem by Richard Dotson, Jr.

Lisa and Rocky will be friends, friends for life.
Even when I’m married and she’s somebody’s wife.
It doesn’t matter if you’re single or married.
You’ll always be in my heart, whether you mingle or when you’re buried.
When I saw you, I knew we’d be friends from the start.
Always and forever, you will remain in my heart.
Your friendship has been Rocky’s Delight.
Your beauty and wisdom are out of sight.
You’re unique, but not like any other girl.
We’re compatible, going together like a vanilla-chocolate swirl.
One day we will visit each other’s respective hood.
Your friendship makes me feel so damn good.
So far you’ve been a good friend to me.
Your knowledge and beauty has no mystery.
Your friendship, to me, is like paradise.
When you’re hot you’re hot, but when you’re cool, you’re like ice.
Living life ain’t nothing jus an everyday thing.
You’re very precious to me like a diamond ring.
I guess you know what I’m trying to say.
I’m really glad I got the chance to know you from around the way.
Lisa, Lisa will you be the best friend of mine?
All I want to know is will you be my valentine?
