Obsession

Obsession

A Poem by Richard Dotson, Jr.

It came to me in a dream- a pure vision of heaven.
I think of you everyday and night, 24/7.
Pretty eyes, perfectly sculpted body and a radiant smile.
I've been neglectful, since I haven't written you in a while.
You've had an impact on me that I won't forget.
How much I care for you is my best kept secret.
Knowing your status, my feelings for you should decrease.
I try my hardest but my feelings for you will never cease.
Why do continue to have this mysterious hold?
My cerebral prowess is stronger than this, but it continues to be controlled.
The first time I saw you, I was awestruck.
You appeared more radiant as time passed. Was this blind faith or pure luck?
You're a priceless artifact like a painting to a connoisseur.
In a world full of evil, it's hard to find someone so pure.
You seem to increase my strength when I'm feeling meek and feeble.
You're my purifying agent when my body is swathed with demonic rage and evil.
