"I"A Poem by KhaakiMy tryst with truth Is always ephemeral Having lived a lie Instead of a life I and my soul Never dwelt in peace Between me and my soul Between me and my beloved There is this “I”
The ego of this “I” Echoes hauntingly In the dark dungeons Of self-indulgence and hatred The songs of love Of longing and belonging Seem bullied and muffled Beneath the rubble of this “I”
Be like a feather, Let not this "I” be thy burden Do not burden thy soul With the ugly weight of vanity The essence of love Lies in nothingness
Oh breeze of dawn! You ask of the agnostics Definitions of the self All I know is My bosom hides a thief A heart of many faces How I wish I knew! © 2013 KhaakiReviews
