Memories

Memories

A Poem by Parthabi Kanungo

MEMORIES

Those days of endless laughter

Those days of extreme ecstasy

Those days of childish fun

Now seem like fantasy.

Because those are just memories now.

Those days of pretended innocence

Those days of positive leaven

Those days of menial pranks

Now seem like seventh heaven.

Because those are just memories now.

Those days of sheer impertinence

Those days of regular irregularity

Those days of delightful disobedience

Now seem like complete ingenuity.

Because those are just memories now.

Those days of true friendship

Those days of love and hate

Those days of immense satisfaction

Now seem like before a decade

Because those are just memories now.

So many unsolved issues

So many unsaid feelings

So many unresolved disputes

If I could, I’d change so many of my proceedings.

But all of it is just a memory now.

I thought this poem was just amazing, it's childish yet sophisticated. I would definitely love to hear more of your poems like this. :)
