Before the Dawn

Before the Dawn

A Poem by destinyfelicia_peacee

I've been waiting for you,

Waiting to take your hand

We've been broken by love

We've been killed by heartbreak

Refusing to see

That life really happened

Let's go back

Back to the time when we were young

& nothing else mattered to us

But the rising sun

I still remember the snow upon my shoulders

When we thought we wouldn't grow older

The fantasy in which we lived

Hoping to stay longer

Let's go back

Back to the time when we were young

& nothing else mattered to us

But the setting sun

Our heaven was the rain

Our angels were the lights

as we would laugh before the dead of night

Run into the street & play with the moon

Let's go back,

Back to the time when we were young

& nothing else mattered to us

But the dying sun

& Before the dawn

We'll escape & play

Only for the moment that we are alive

Let the sun set on our smiles

Allow the moon to take us in

Fall back into reality with our sins

& you'll take my hand

& We'll run away

So far away

Where we'll be long gone before the dawn

Let's go back,

Back to the time when we were young

& nothing else mattered to us

But the eternal sun....

This is fantastic! You have written this very well, and I am very fond of the 3rd stanza.
Great Job!
