October Rain

October Rain

A Poem by Phantasmagoric Perceptions
"

Life right now.

"

Lightning scars the sky,
Splits its face wide open.
Rain washes over the ground, so dry.
The Earth is cracked and broken.

The violence of it all is captivating.
The cycle of "live and let die".
My mind is silent, devastated,
As I watch the horizon cry.

Wishes flood my heart with sorrow,
For beauty like this is so rare;
Serenity as this cannot be borrowed,
And must be handled with such care.

My dreams wash away with the October storm;
And in myself, I am transformed.

This is a lovely write. The first four lines are particularly telling and do a wonderful job of setting the stage for the rest of the piece. The description is nice as well. It is as though a hard rain can wash away all the damage we've done, the heartache we bear and the pain that we all suffer through. Nicely done!
