THE TRUTHA Poem by Harjyot Kaur
People ask me, why I am the way I am,
standing in a corner, always alone, they ask me why I choose not to mingle socially, meet new people, and experience new things. How am I to explain to them, that I've met my share of people, and I've had my experiences, I've loved as much as I could, given myself up completely, loved so furiously and passionately, and lost myself. I've experienced the ache you feel, when betrayal laughs at you, coming from the people you once trusted more than others. I've met people, and I've loved them, I've laughed, and I've cried with them, I've shared stories, and made memories, memories which soon turned to nothing, because people changed, and they moved on, they forgot and kept going. Yes, people change, and it hurts, but this is the truth standing in front of you. staring right at your face, you get used to it, looking truth in the eyes, and then you make your peace with it. © 2017 Harjyot KaurAuthor's Note
