Lyra

Lyra

A Poem by hardluckbaby

Beautiful things, they are, stars
Too bad they'd be gone by daylight
Fools wish upon them, fools like me
Fools who live in a world of fantasy
They never told us about red giants or white dwarfs
And how twinkling is just a pretty word
For all the dirt that lies between
Stars, you can watch them forever
But they take lightyears to reach you
If they ever
You see, stars never fall for fools like me
And if they ever
I stopped looking
