HOSANNAA Poem by kelvin
In the heat of the day a crowd of
people gather in multitudes throughout the city of Jerusalem. The city is so packed that you’re literally standing shoulder to shoulder with your neighbor. An ever so strong scent of camel, sheep and other cattle can be smelled through the air. While looking through the heat waves you can vaguely see the king and his entourage approaching from a distance. Brothers and sisters begin to sing from their rooftops and wave palm branches out their windows; they’re even dancing on their balconies. As the rejoicing throughout Jerusalem intensifies you can feel the holy spirit trembling through the soles of your feet. The crowd gets into an uproar as the king enters the city, riding on a donkey and healing all those to whom he lay hands upon. People in multitudes lay pieces of their garments alongside chopped palm branches in front of the king’s path. The crowd shouts out in cheers hosanna! Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. © 2022 kelvinFeatured Review
