Gridlocked Paper Art

Gridlocked Paper Art

A Poem by kelvin

My mind is gridlocked,
as the traffic flow of my poetry stops.

Sign says road out take a detour,
which makes this road trip more obscured.

Inconveniently the destination of
my poetry’s path is now longer.
Yet I feel that it’s a must to fulfill
the desires and needs of paper wanting ink.
So am I the cure for paper’s hunger?

Now I’m the artist with the tattoo gun
in my hand,
making it buzz
as I permanently tattoo my ink
in paper’s flesh with a straight hand.

Now the paper’s body is covered
with my signature ink.
Signature ink brewed from the mind,
like mind and pen were  connected
as one
flowing in a aspect that’s unique.

This is unique
Unique I say
Unique I think

But in the end this, is an art form.

yes, it is...and we need to slow down in the work zone...

sometimes we speed through our thoughts too fast and they don't get the poetic roads fixed...especially that writers' block which you address so well here.

detours drive us crazy, but sooner or later the muse's destination will be the same as ours...and we will drive down that highway with her.

YES...tattoo is living art on skin...its been there since beginning of time dating back to the ancient times...in the Pacific of where my people are from, speaks of our days as Warriors. Lovely poem, Kelvin.

You're very welcome, Kelvin.
I felt that this was clearly written yet the messages were convoluted and slightly mysterious which is part of its overall charm, a tattoo gun for example to me denotes permanence and a burning enduring pain inflected on skin, ( by consent of course) such visual diversions I think makes your poem all the more interesting, well done

Yes we will and thank you for your thoughts here.
Firstly, I love the title "Gridlocked Paper Art" made me think of having some kind of writers block, screwing up the paper into a ball and starting again.. and again... Then picking them up and unfolding the paper to see that even a few words of what seemed like nonsense.. makes sense after all...

You've given me food for thought today in this thought provoking write Kelvin :O)

I really enjoyed the mental process here and the correlation between the thoughts/objects as you progressed. Just a great, thinking person's piece. :)

Interesting concept--tattooing words into paper flesh...
And tattooing itself is an art form. I sometimes have to stop and stare in amazement at arms covered with pictures...

I like how you compared poetry to the art of tattoing on paper instead of body . You are the artist with the gun to tattoe the thoughts on paper to be permanent . This is a great write dear poet and very deep. I think you are excelling more and more in your art...:)
