Shadow

Shadow

A Poem by hardeep sabharwal
"

The past and the future

"
All those legends of your liveliness and courage,
Entered in my bones as ants,
Forming me the ant hill,
Like a newly wedded girl's bangle's lyric,
Chanting day and night,
I don't understand,
There must be some other word,
Which can decipher envy and love in sync,
The more I envied, the more I loved,
The more I loved, the more I envied,
You wished, just as all parents do,
I failed, and left it,
For some other day to discover,
When a friend told,
I should quit,
I cannot be more than a shadow,
With you,
I can agree to these words, but
Can future shed its past?
And there is nothing more magical,
In my life,
Than solace of your love,
So I went, to not go.

this took me a two time read to figure out the inner meaning of this piece. this is extremely superb poem.
which has intriguing thoughts revolving around the whole theme
something which has an essence of mystic sadness , or lack of hope.
hard choice of words makes this piece to tie together...
even though the last line seemed to be little messy but on the go its a splendid write
enjoyed reading it ............ peace :)

Forming me an ant hill or Forming an ant hill , Forming already implies it is for you... It is always that thing for you of the words Hardep. I see words that might fit better what you might be trying to say but it becomes irrelevant as I can reach some of what you want to say. To say for example about the combination of emotions which is clever as the more the emotion ascends it magnifies all aspects not just one. The more you learn how to love the more hate you will engender. Painfully then future can only be a consequence of the past. But you desire to remain still so the solace never goes.

Powerfull

Thankyou

Thanks Richard, your appreciation matters a lot :)
This is really good Hardeep. I did enjoy this piece.
These lines as brilliant as many before me have pointed out-
"The more I envied, the more I loved,
The more I loved, the more I envied, "

Well done.

Some super lines here.
Sometimes our wishes and hopes follow us like a shadow.
It can either be the fuel that keeps us going or the weight that brings us down.
