Tradition

Tradition

A Poem by hardeep sabharwal
"

Youngsters leaving their parents to old age homes to feel themselves free

"
To be independent,
Is so easy
For the hands shining with wedding bangles
Or for the legs riding on new motorbikes
Just as for an infant
To take birth
When the liquid of mother s foetus dries
May it be a normal
Or Ceasarian birth
Leaving asides all the pains
For previous generations
Enjoy aloneness
O faces full of wrinkles
and cataract dull eyes
At old age homes
Making a mirage around themselves
we are justifying Traditions
Till the time next generation would
Justify this tradition again

Hardeep, there is another side to this story. Children are reflection of their parents just in the different time.
Most of the parents grow their children into achiever, who acquire job, cars and house and when the parents are no longer of use they put them into an old age home.
I have one question to these parents. Did they ever try to grow their children into good, kind heart compassionate human beings?....Answer is No. So you sow, so you reap.

The passing on of the batton so to speak. Not just that Hardeep I can only imagine as I haven't visited that in India tradition are more of an influence than over her where just about anything goes. Agin my relationship with old traditions expressed in the wisdom of tales from example the mahabharata is great! But who on earth pays any attention to that? So much so , that I reckon is part of our journey as Individuals to arrive at understanding wihout the help of traditions.

Hardeep never one to point out little technicalities as they can change anytime time but seeein tha the English language is incredibility rich! Until is formal which is in the context of your writing Till is coloquial. Mother's that seemed to be a site thingy thing. Aloness funny to me Isolation? If you also wanted to follow formality then at the beggining of each line there should follow a capital letter.

That's just me though as I always say if it makes you happy it can't be that bad...

Thankyou
