After My Death

After My Death

A Poem by hardeep sabharwal
"

Wish for a life death

"
When I die
Donate Few vulnerable organs
To those, who can use them
of rest of me, creamate a part
And throw ashes half at Kiratpur
Where my ancestors rests
And spread the other half
Over a mountain all over the valley
Bury the other part somewhere
in the cold north
May be in this way
I can be able to live
In one form and
Obtain peace in the other ...

Beautiful wish for post death scenario but what about life? We are here to play our roles and play it good. It is too early for you to fantasize your death. You do that only when you lose all your dreams for life. Sorry to be so direct. But I do feel this poem is born out of self pity and a beautiful life like yours should rather be thinking about life and keep on fantasizing about it. That is why god sent you here.

Thanks a lot Ashira
I like the old ways. I'm 1/2 Ojibwa. I would like to be burned at death and tossed into Lake Superior. Here in the USA. Death is not understood even those, all of us will know death one day. I like the ritual and wish in the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

That is a great idea, even though you will not actually be with your body, but live and attain peace in another fashion.

:D your view is practical, but still wishes are wishes :) thanks dear
Planning for the future and the afterlife is one thing, but obtaining that spiritual peace and living for today is another... As a nurse, I can say the addition of organ donation is a beautiful gesture and very meaningful to those who need... the flow of this piece is very pleasant, and is definitely thought-provoking.. would love to see more emotion and passion sprinkled in, that is what life is all about isn't it.. overall nice write...
