HIV POSITIVE

HIV POSITIVE

A Poem by hardeep sabharwal
"

Feelings of a young man suffering from HIV

"
How can I forget the color of that pink shirt,
And smile of a translucent face,
In the young darkness of evening,
That fifteen minutes touch, or may be,
Any other of that kind,
That turned me positive, from Negative,
A long time passed in understanding,
It is too negative to be positive,
And suddenly my whole presence become dubious
All eyes now look differently,
To my virtues and vices,
Yes I am different now,
Perhaps better than the time
When my identity was not so unreal
Knowing better what to do and how
To alter things and cross obstacles
Than why not let me live positively,
Even after being tested positive

You have skill and presented the the poem well, well written on a difficult and unpopular theme. Perhaps a reference to what lead the person into the penalty of this disease, not all victims are sinners, some are completely innocent. Maybe a stronger emotion o the social stigma might be appropriate.

Well said. I always think of those who tested positive after blood transfusions, or even being born. Doesn't matter how, the person gets a certain kind of look, usually judging.

Love this, "Than why not let me live positively,
Even after being tested positive." Yes, it is too negative to be positive, but through this poignant verse, you have brightened it. Lovely!

This is fabulous. You've touched upon a subject that most shy away from.
Incredible.
