Stepping Stars

Stepping Stars

A Poem by New Dawn

When you stand on the Moon

you can see them

stretched out before you

like stepping stones,

a Giants Causeway

of luminescent gems

that you may hop across,

or if you are of a dare- devil persuasion

run, with your heart in your throat

for if you fall...

                       if you fall....

you will surely plummet

like Halley’s comet,

burning with

retina scorching intensity,

a celestial beauty

to be viewed momentarily

against the dense night sky.
