![]() Autumn CallingA Poem by New Dawn![]() Autumn![]() You arrive in Summers wake with offerings of golden afternoon sun and the sweet aroma of apples, that seduce the wasps with promises of intoxicating beverage.
You arrive in Summers wake and the birds fly south as you draw in the nights like velvet curtains, enticing with forceful breeze a carpet of leaves to fall and the donning of sweaters, raincoats and hats. You arrive in Summers wake but you leave at Winters behest, having guided us through bonfires and wrapped a cold Arctic wind about our necks, and in the mornings foggy breath in freezing air. © 2012 New DawnReviews
