Something In My VoiceA Poem by New DawnYou must have heard something in my voice that day something that told you to stay on the line, a crack perhaps, a prolonged pause that told you just how close to the precipice I was.
You must have heard something in my voice that day that caused you to keep me talking nonsense, whilst the baby cried and the toddler played along with squeals of mirth and I kicked against the undertow.
You heard something in my voice That Day you were the only one and for that I can forgive you any transgression you can ever perpetrate, my gratitude cannot be measured, the words don't exist, I can forgive anything because you heard something in my voice That Day that said to you ' better stay on the line' © 2012 New DawnReviews
