Graphics and combat were well-received

Although a game may be free to play, players shouldn't be required to pay thousands of dollars to level up their characters and experience all the game has to provide. D2R Ladder is a free-to-play MMORPG from the Diablo franchise, has been the subject of some criticism for its microtransactions. There are reports saying that players must invest around $500.000 in order to unlock their character.

D2R Ladder didn't get off with the best of start also, since the announcement made in the year 2018 was met with displeasure from gamers who wanted a PC-focused version instead of a mobile one. D2R Ladder did eventually come to PC however, its launch was met with a mixed reaction from the players. 

Graphics and combat were well-received, but they did not overcome the negative reaction to the unjust progression system or the controversy surrounding the game's microtransactions. D2R Ladder still has its supporters, but the nebulous elements of certain features, the randomization of progress, as well as the limitations on players who don't pay fees have resulted in a negative reception.
