The dye system for Diablo IV will allow players

The dye system for Diablo IV will allow players to change the color palette of their armor, for instance, switching from silver to gold, or replacing the white cloth with a black cloth. According to lead character artist Arnaud Kotelnikoff every piece is able to be dyed in an alternative color palette if the player wishes to, or the same color palette could be applied to every piece.

"This system was difficult to put into place because certain materials such as metal can't be dyed with colors that are not appropriate when they follow PBR rules," Kotelnikoff said. "To solve this issue we have added information to our armor that identifies specific types of material and tells the dye system which color will go on what material including fabric, leather, metal and other materials. The result is an armor which can be dyed in many colors, while feel grounded and real to the environment we're building specifically for Diablo IV."

The same care for detail can be seen in the monsters from Diablo IV, as Blizzard employed its latest technologies to create blood magic vampiric sorcerors that had organic layers of squishy softness undead skeleton-based lords consisting of fused body and skeleton parts and a Succubus, which has many complex detail.
