It's all about winning on the field however, it begins in the office. The players will be given different roles to add to their talents as well, which makes certain players better suited to your team due to more beyond their athletic abilities. 

For instance, a player like Bobby Wagner, for example is a fictional "Mentor" badge which grants XP boosts to younger players at the similar position. These roles can be applied to the free-agent market directly, since knowing who's inside the locker room can aid players in deciding where they want to sign like wideouts that want to partner with a top QB.

A new twist is how the free-agency period unfolds. In the past, a stage-based approach to free agency has been the norm, but Madden 23 has now capped the amount of contracts you can offer at each stage. 

A sample MMOexp was offered that suggests that the initial free agency period allows each team to offer up to five contracts however, not more than five offers. 

As the time passes during the free-agent period, more offers will be made available. This is intended to make sure that players don't toss money around (even even though they do with the Jaguars do it in actual life).

For franchises that are online that are online, the impact of these modifications is expected to be intensified. Within my Madden league, we currently have restrictions on out-of-game play during the free agency period in order to look for something more comparable or at least one that takes into account our different time zones.
