The biggest weakness of RuneScape

The biggest weakness of RuneScape, which could also be its most significant assets, is one found in almost every other game: its longevity. In between the exciting quests and high-octane PvP battles is the constant grinding out of the mundane household tasks such as fishing, mining , or cooking to get up or earn credits to buy that new helmet or piece armor. Gotta make money somehow, right?

While these activities may be mildly relaxing, they are time that is spent doing the same thing repeatedly - time that could instead be spent around with some shorter but none the less traditional video games.

Instead of being a single battle, RuneScape is a painstaking battle for survival that's difficult and long, and that never really ends. But, it's immensely rewarding if one is willing to dedicate the necessary time and effort into it, and I was. I think for the first one or two years.

I'ven't played any MMORPGs sincethen, to my everlasting loss and shame. Life's demands are a lot more intense and I do not have time to allow them to entice me. In all the games I've played it is the most demanding, with endless levels to attain and things to gather. 

Some have even died during or in the aftermath of lengthy sessions of RuneScape's older but more well-known sibling, World of Warcraft, which is what makes it one of the most frightening games.

Today, you'll most of the time, I'm in Quake and Half-Life or hanging out on Team Fortress 2 - games which are in full force make a mark on me and fade away quickly. It's a pleasure to play games you enjoy, and then forget about rather quickly, as opposed to having to think about how many pieces of wood are on my shelves or where I'm likely to fish in the coming session.
