Ignorant LullabiesA Poem by Hanna McGivernIgnorant Lullabies Hail Mary, the Lord should be with thou sinful self Upon a world you create of selfish hate and endless stains of self- pity. Truthful tears run down a face, looking to the stars for confirmation of who to be on a harsh night of stinging words and actions that can never be revoked. Praise the Lord for he knows the agony you should and the sobs you moan before the last amen. Empty heavens and hushed words of concern for your soul. Help is an empty threat that echoes hollow failures in a world of false smiles. Hear me, for I should the loudest truth, as my words fall like burnt out ash upon an ignorantly paternal world. Hush little girl for your words need a kind hand to guide them towards whats right, whilst we, the righteous individual get high on life itself and lead you towards a peaceful green lullaby. Break away, but your words have bruised the innocent face which you wish to soften the blow of the truthful thoughts of your truest knowledge of all things black. Silence your music, for I do not understand. © 2013 Hanna McGivern |
