Her

Her

A Poem by Hannah's Writing
"

This poem describes a girl caught up in her own imaginary world. It becomes a way for her to cope with real life, but it eventually becomes more of a curse than a blessing, as it traps her.

"

Her eyes

Kindred to rotten oranges

Flesh decaying, slowly melting

Like chocolate in a microwave

That twirls and laughs

Before sizzling and smoldering,

Crashing and burning

As sugar turns sour

Her nose

Reminiscent of the hill

That leads to her church

Where lilies and roses

Drop their seeds

And dance with the weeds

As the wind whispers love

Her lips

Crescent like the moon

Beautiful in the shadows

And forgotten in the sun

Whispering words that fade

As night does to day

Dependent on love

To shine in the inky blackness

Of her own made up world

Her heart

Quiet as the wings

Of an untouched butterfly

Floating in the wind

Like a dandelion seed

Calling for help

To wake up

From the story she created
