Innocent LoveA Poem by Parachutes and SunshineThis is fiction... with a little of my thoughts sprinkled in there
Years ago is when it all began,
A boy and a girl. That's all we were at the start. You gave me a hope there could be an us. A hope of innocent love to last. We were so young, We still are. Countless times my face has been drenched, Just by the thought of you. Just by the feelings that couldn't be tamed. Like a beast ripping out of its cage. There was no holding it in. However there have been times, Where that couldn't be more false. I couldn't help but smile by the mention of your name. My knees went weak. I went into almost a trance, Dazing, Thinking. I knew it couldn't last though. Now, The idea of us is almost unrecognizable. As if nothing happened, Nothing ever happened. What if we never had that conversation? If I never said those things I didn't mean. If you didn't act as if it was nothing, When it was killing me inside. What if it was the same for you? I want to rewind everything, Like the vhs tapes we used to love. To undo everything, To make everything okay again. I want to go back to when it all began, Back to the hope, To the idea of innocent love. But I can't, and never will
