A Poem by Parachutes and Sunshine

What if not every kind of love is made for every kind of person?
There's stranger love. Like when you see a helpless homeless fellow on the side of the road, or you see a mentally challenged teenager getting constantly ridiculed at school, every single day. And maybe it's as simple as seeing the pain and sorrow in the eyes of someone you encounter at random. In any case, although there is no pre-established connection between you and this person, you are moved in your heart and can't help but wish only amazing circumstances for them from here on out.
That's love.
And there's family love. These people are legally related to you, and no matter what you do, they will continue to love you and support you and love you and love you and love you. This is the most common love that people have thrust upon them, which makes it even more devastating for the people who just don't.
Because that's love.
But maybe that minority can identify with the love of an almost adoptive family: friends. This is the family that you choose, the family that you run to when you can't do the same to your other one. This is the family that can either burn strong for an instant then slowly flicker out, or the one that maintains itself even though it may be a little soggy or worn out at times.
That's love.
There's, of course, the ever so sought after love of a significant other spouse, life-partner, best friend on a level that not one other person on this planet could replicate. Soul mate. This tends to be the least common to encounter, but when you find it, you've found it. This one person goes their whole life being a single unit, and then you find each other and it changes everything because now you are double, stuck together by the chemicals in your brains, the drumbeat of your hearts, and the butterflies in your stomachs. They know every gritty detail about you and still love you, not in despite of, but because of those little fragments.
That's love.
It's scary to think that there are some forms of love that some people will never have the pleasure of experiencing. They're left to experience them secondhand through other people or movies or music. But maybe it's a good thing, the way this is designed. If you don't have one of these loves, you have a fallback plan, a consolation prize that might turn out to be the best thing that's ever happened to you. You're 55 years old and have never been married, but it's okay because you know that you have a beautiful family. You come from a broken home, but it's okay because you have a husband who would do anything for you. The point being, maybe not every type of love fits every person, but it's okay.

Parachutes and Sunshine
let me know what you think of the length and the style. This is more informational than I usually do, less poem-y, it's kind of almost like an article. Yay or nay?

No problem, thank you for passing on/supporting my work! :)
I live the way you described love. Today I watched my Grand boys. I watch them run in the park and was thankful for them. Love bring more love if we open the doors and have no fear. I lived in many foster homes. A had AWOL parent. Taught me to appreciate family and I tried to be a better person. Your thoughts are true. Love is different for all people. A outstanding blog.
