I Didn't Know

I'm young, I haven't yet lived.

I see the movies, the TV, the books.

Am I supposed to love more than one?

Remember the first and still love the next?

Do I walk around with a heart that heavy?

Am I supposed to be skinny, healthy, work, have a family, and always be happy?

Volunteer at the church, the school, the workplace...

When do I sleep? When do I relax?

But wait...you said I was supposed to have a heart of lost love

thinly veiled by a new one.

I didn't know it was supposed to be like this.

I'm not so sure that's what I want.
