Death

Death

A Poem by HannahW
"

Happens all the time.

"
What can you say about death that isn't cliche?
Death is beautiful.
You leave this place
Enter another.
What is on the other side?
Is there one?
Leave your body
float free, fly
that's what you always wanted, right?
Death is a relief.
Death is a release.
Death is the beginning.

On the show Oz, one of the characters, having died earlier in the series, says "Death is only hard on the living". That's what this poem reminds me of. Ever since I was little, I've wondered what's on "the other side". I don't claim to know, and to be honest, I don't think we'd be able to comprehend whatever is beyond this plane of existence. This poem was succinct, yet imaginative; and best of all, it made me think. Great job.

Amazing! For the first time I'm reading the bright side of the most gloomy event in a human being's life, and with cheery tone that says everything succinctly!

Good work here definitely!

Death is a release.
