Midrash: The Great Trumpet CallA Poem by HannahWThis is a midrash that I wrote for English and I actually really love. I used the verse 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 He’s coming back! We may be dejected and afraid, Not sure of our path. However down we might be, we must know That the Lord Himself is coming back to save us. We will not precede those who have died in Christ. They have Waited the longest and will join the Messiah first. Then we who remain will join God in heaven. We Shall ever be with the Lord in the air, peaceful and unafraid. The occasion will be a joyous one. Trumpets, angels, the cry Of God. It will not be quiet or subtle. It will be loud, Everyone will know. There will be no question that Jesus has returned To bring us home. © 2012 HannahW |
