Written: On A BusA Poem by hannahjchin
You wouldn't have
been a letter. You never had that much to say. Not a love letter, I would have laughed at that. Nor a billboard, you never had to sell yourself to me. Never would you have been a song with it's cotton candy reach, sticking to everything leaving it's mark on nothing. You wouldn't have been a pamphlet with it's over-saturated photos or over stretched truth. You would have been a memo. Simple. Clean. Full of abbreviations only I would have understood. Punctuation foregone because you knew I read you as you are. Then a signature, your name, a promise, a lovesong. Yes, you, would have been a memo sitting at my desk.
