"You Are What You Eat"

"You Are What You Eat"

A Poem by hannahjchin

Then Today I am
my words.

Today I am change,
because I am hungry for it.

I am my pride
because I was forced to swallow it.

Today I am a bitter pill,
an unpleasant after taste
because I made myself take you

I am my feelings
because I
ate them away

Today I am nothing
because every gulp
of air
erases
me.

I agree with Kevin, this is not what I was expecting at all! I like how you slipped right into the ironic subject and made simple & blunt lines out of what you were thinking. This is crafted so well, in an intensely awesome way that really blew me away. Amazing poem!

I agree with Richee. The ending was really good. This is a very creative take on the phrase. I like the things you picked to "eat," especially change. Such an original idea!

Not what I was expecting. Very well done.

Detailing the parts of us we do not wish to air, no likes to swallow pride or be forced to eat their own words and everyone should be able to relate to this.
